I had worked with the band i:scintilla back in college, at the University of Illinois in Champaign ages ago and really loved working with these guys. So, when Jim and Brittany came to me again earlier this year asking me to shoot a performance set only video for their latest single, I was thrilled! I'd also been looking for a way to do a darker, grittier piece with i:scintilla and am pretty jazzed about how the final product came together. The goal was to really make the viewing experience a thrill-ride in and of itself, even in the absence of a narrative storyline. I wanted the viewer to feel the "struggle" or tension between the more colorful world Brittany is in, with warmer skin tones etc, juxtaposed with the cool blue "underworld" looking grittiness of the main band performance set.
