I had been following the band The Lifeline for some time and decided to go to them with an idea to create a trilogy of music videos connecting three of their hit songs, while attempting to target different segments of their audience with unique visual approaches to each one of the videos. I wanted the audience to gain a unique experience if they were to watch all three in order, while still retaining a full experience if they only saw one of the three. So from the start, we were challenged with finding a way of telling the stories through vivid imagery and flashbacks.

The hope was to have the three music videos evolve in every way throughout the "cinematic" experience of viewing them, as more of a short film, where the color, the flashbacks, and the story all evolves from darkness (disillusionment) into light (spiritual reconnection). The story arc of all three videos combined represnts a slightly modified version of Joseph Campbell's "hero's journey" and the structure: Separation, Initiation, and Return. I hope the videos offer something for whoever views it, whether someone is looking for visual storytelling or merely eye candy, there's hopefully something for everyone.
